Hello Players, Sponsors, and Fans!
Wow! What a long, scary and difficult year 2020 was - and no softball to boot! Speaking of boot, I for one am glad we were able to give 2020 the "boot" so we can move on. We are so excited to kick off the 2021 Spring Season with the Opening Ceremony on April 11th at 12:30pm. With current COVID restrictions, our Opening Ceremony may look different than years past so stay tuned for information about that!
Triad Softball League is first and foremost a safe haven for LGBT members of the Triad and surrounding communities. This league has a rich tradition of serving the LGBT community, providing amateur athletics to its participants and engaging in the social aspect of athletics. We are grateful and welcoming of the many straight allies who also play - our family, friends, and supporters!
This is the 18th Anniversary of TSL. In 2003, after a couple pick-up games, a Board of Directors assembled to organize what has become one of the largest (if not the largest) LGBT organizations in the Triad. It has grown from 2 pick-up teams to 4 teams, 6 teams, and now to as much as 9 teams, and over 120 players.
I have vowed that as long as I am involved with TSL, I will do what I can to ensure that the original mission is kept in clear focus. Stressing the importance of good sportsmanship, socializing, and being active has proven to help TSL continue to attract a very diverse group of individuals. We are proud to be inclusive regardless of race, age, gender identity, and sexual orientation. As long as we continue to respect each other, TSL will only become bigger and better.
I look forward to seeing all the friends I've made in the past 13 years of playing as well as meeting all the new faces this season!
