Commissioner
The Commissioner shall:
- Preside at all regular and special meetings of the Organization;
- Assist the Treasurer in preparation of the budget;
- Serve as an authorized signer of TSL checks;
- Plan for elections;
- Not vote in meetings except to break a tie;
- Advise the Board of Directors, Softball Council, or Members on all matters of procedure in according with the TSL Bylaws and Robert’s Rules of Order;
- Have authority to enter into contracts or agreements on behalf of TSL. All such contracts or agreements shall become effective only upon approval of the Board of Directors;
- Attend all national sports alliance meetings for any alliance maintained by TSL;
- Have such other duties and responsibilities as may be necessary.
- Not be a Team Coach nor Manager.
A member serving as Commissioner must, immediately prior to such term of office, have been a member of the Softball Council*.
Treasurer
The Treasurer shall:
- Prepare a budget;
- Maintain all financial records;
- Serve as an authorized signer of TSL checks;
- Present regular financial reports to the TSL Commissioner as requested by the TSL Board, but in any case no less frequently than quarterly;
- Provide updated copies of the budget as requested by the TSL Board, but in any case no less frequently than quarterly;
- Provide all financial reports, budget and monthly account statements to be distributed to and subject to approval by the Board of Directors at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board;
- Perform such other duties as the Commissioner may designate.
Assistant Commissioner for Operations
The Assistant Commissioner for Operations shall:
- Preside over any meetings of TSL in the absence of the Commissioner;
- Develop and implement a playing schedule;
- Coordinate and oversee all league and tournament play, including arranging for the umpiring of all league and tournament games;
- Negotiate with City or County Officials to obtain field playing time or the use of any other necessary facilities or equipment;
- Perform such other duties as the Commissioner may designate.
Assistant Commissioner for Sponsors
The Assistant Commissioner for Socials and Sponsors shall:
- Develop and implement, in consultation with the Board of Directors, a marketing and outreach plan to increase the financial sponsorship of TSL and its teams;
- Arrange for such awards, plaques, or trophies as may be given to team or league sponsors;
- Perform such other duties as the Commissioner may designate.
Assistant Commissioner for Player Development
The Assistant Commissioner for Player Development shall:
- Develop and implement Spring and Fall Member Skill Clinics;
- Develop and implement a system for ranking players by skill level;
- Develop and implement a plan for player retention;
- Initiate such activities and disseminate such information as may be helpful in improving both individual and overall play in the league;
- Advise the Softball Council on all matters concerning rules governing league play;
- Perform such other duties as the Commissioner may designate.
Secretary
The Secretary shall:
- Notify the Board of Directors, Softball Council, or Members of all regularly scheduled or special meetings.
- Maintain the minutes of all meetings.
- Distribute meeting minutes within two weeks after the meeting.
- Prepare a sufficient number of ballots for elections and have copies of rosters available to ensure that only members of the Organization who are in good standing cast votes.
- Perform such other duties as the Commissioner may designate.
Assistant Commissioner for Social Events
The Assistant Commissioner for Social Events shall:
- Establish relationships with Sponsors and local establishments.
- Develop and implement an annual plan for social events.
- Execute socials in conjunction with the Treasure.
- Perform such duties as the Commissioner may designate.
Assistant Commissioner for Marketing and Media
The Assistant Commissioner for Marketing and Media shall:
- Develop, implement and regularly update the Triad Softball League website and social media outlets.
- Produce tools and methods for recruiting members and sponsors and for retention of existing players.
- Perform such other duties as the Commissioner may designate.
*The Softball Council is defined as a person who has served as a coach or member of the Board of Directors for at least one season.
